The Movember Foundation created a campaign, “Movember”, or commonly known as no shave November. Movember challenges men to grow a mustache or to make a commitment to get physically active, during November. To start a conversation and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. The campaign launched a video featuring men of all different ages and cultures grooming their mustaches and doing manly day to day activities. The campaign is trying to reach men of all different ages and backgrounds to join the cause to raise awareness for men’s health. The problem the brand is trying to change is the face of men’s health in a fun interactive way. Almost all men can grow facial hair. Movember took ahold of this and turned it into more than just growing facial hair. This whole concept of growing a mustache to support men’s health makes a lot of sense since almost all guys can do it. The Movember campaign is mainly composed of owned and earned media. They own every video, post, and photo. When it comes to earned media, an example is a viewer growing a mustache supporting Movember and how they explain it with potential new supporters.
