Kanye West announced over a year ago that he would be releasing his 7th studio album in either late 2015 or early 2016. Kanye has always generated media attention because of his persona and music acclaim so when this news broke people naturally wanted to know the name of the album, the track list, and the official release date. Kanye has since changed the name of the album 4 times before announcing the official album title the day the album would be released. He even posted on Twitter a few days before the album release that he would give those who correctly guess the title of his new album free Yeezy sneakers. This naturally generated buzz surrounding his album. Kanye has always been the king of making headlines (for better or worse) and this was just another unique way he successfully created earned media from both fans and haters alike.
