Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo is a non-profit organization in Omaha Nebraska. The zoo is widely known throughout the US as one of the best zoos in the country. The Henry Doorly Zoo is pretty up to date on their social media accounts. Which is great start when you are trying to generate earned media. They share stories about individual animal that are at the zoo and they have giveaways and deals located throughout their social media platforms as well. The suggestion I would make that could generate earned media would be a scavenger hunt at the zoo. Scavenger hunts have been extremely popular throughout the advertising world recently. The zoo could set up a scavenger hunt throughout the zoo and people would have to post each item on social media. Anyone who solves the scavenger hunt would then earn a prize. Prizes could consist of a free ticket to the zoo, a $25 voucher at the gift shop, etc. This would be a great way to get a lot of buzz with the fans and have them raving about the Henry Doorly Zoo.
