Nintendo produced a Super Bowl ad to celebration the 20th Anniversary of the Pokemon series. The concept of the ad was to show battle between Pokemon in real life. The commercial had people from around the world in it and had call back to the games and the cartoon. This played upon both the popularity of the brand ad the nostalgia of long time fans as well. The ad was was seen by over 11 million people on YouTube because of the popularity of Pokemon. They release the ad three weeks before the Super Bowl and dominated social media because it was one of the only ads that was released. The ad itself was owned media and the buzz on social media was positive. This was a great way to get people talking about the series.
