It’s gonna be “huge”, “Mexicans are rapists”, we’re gonna “make America great again”. Those are the words that probably come to mind when thinking of presidential nominee Donald Trump. Whether you’re with him or against him, his use and manipulation of the media is absolutely mind-boggling. He has millions of followers and likes on Facebook, Twitter, Vine, and Instagram. His social media campaigns blow any other Republican competitor out of the water. These are all outlets of owned media, but the one that really gets peoples attention is his Twitter account. The thing that separates Trump from the rest of the bunch is his ability to live-tweet. Trump’s Twitter coverage of major events has become a key part of his online presence. Yes his tweets can be very controversial, but it doesn’t seem to be hurting him. His countless number of absurd tweets actually are helping him in the polls and his coverage in the main stream media. Could Trump’s owned media strategies win him the biggest job in Washington this year? It’s gonna be a toss up, but all we know is it’s gonna be “huge”.
