UNL has stepped into the minds of their potential students by unveiling their, Start Your Story campaign. It takes on the role of untangling perceptions that people have about the Midwest, Nebraska, Lincoln and life at one of the most recognizable schools in a 300 mile radius. There is always competition within a state and barriers all universities have to overcome. Pulling in the best pool of potential students is one of the many ways universities remain successful.
The commercials produced with the help of Archrival took aim to show potential students that UNL is a potential and real chapter to be added to their story. The campaign has focused on real-life experiences they’ve had here includings lows and failures. It shows potential students the real side of college and not something that was mocked up or framed to share the typrical, “every student is so successful and they love it here and we are here to make sure you have the resources for success.”
This campaign is successful because it’s different and shows a diverse choice of interests from students that still puts the university as a resource for success but success of that individual through acceptance of student’s individuality. It doesn’t matter what you do, whether you’re a CEO, an artist, writer or entrepreneur you can start you story at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
